Après une semaine de résidence technique à la Place des Arts 5e salle pour EFER, offerte par Danse Danse, David et Emily retournent au studio pour avancer sur deux projets majeurs.

Studio Flak Artistes en résidence | EFER

Depuis 2019, Parts+Labour_Danse sont des artistes en résidence à long terme au Studio Flak, un engagement offert gracieusement par José Navas / Compagnie Flak. Cette année, David et Emily utilisent la majorité des heures de studio allouées pour une période de répétition intensive au printemps pour EFER. Informés par leur récente résidence technique, ils retournent au studio pour pousser plus loin les développements chorégraphiques avec leurs danseurs-collaborateurs.

Répétitions de pré-production | Film À bout de bras

Parallèlement au processus de création d'EFER, David et Emily collaborent avec le réalisateur Robin Pineda Gould à l'adaptation cinématographique de leur projet solo À bout de bras / At Arm's Length. Les répétitions reprennent ce printemps afin d’extrapoler des éléments de l'œuvre scénique pour la version cinématographique, et pour commencer les repérages et le story-board. Rendu possible grâce au CALQ, ce projet permettra à la compagnie de collaborer pour la première fois avec l'agence Achillée.

David Albert-Toth donnera des cours de technique professionnelle RQD du lundi 3 mai au jeudi 6 mai de 10h à 11h30 aux studios Par B.L.eux.

Back in the studio

Following a week of technical residency at Place des Arts 5e salle for EFER, offered by Danse Danse, David and Emily return to the studio to move forward on two major projects.

Studio Flak Artists-in-Residence | EFER

Since 2019, Parts+Labour_Danse are long-term artists in residence at Studio Flak, a commitment offered graciously by José Navas / Compagnie Flak. This year, David and Emily will be using the majority of the allotted studio hours towards a spring intensive rehearsal period for EFER. Informed by their recent technical residency, they return to the studio to push the choreographic developments further with their dancer-collaborators.

Pre-production rehearsals | À bout de bras film

In tandem to the ongoing creation process of EFER, David and Emily are also collaborating with filmmaker Robin Pineda Gould on a film adaptation of their solo work-in-progress À bout de bras / At Arm’s Length. Rehearsals pick up this spring in order to determine which elements of the stage work will be explored and extrapolated for the film version, and to begin location scouting and storyboarding. Made possible thanks to funding received from CALQ, this project will see the company collaborating for the first time with Achillée agency.

David et Emily passent deux semaines en résidence de recherche et création au CENTRO PER LA SCENA CONTEMPORANEA (CSC) dans le fabuleux Garage Nardini à Bassano del Grappa, continuant le développement du solo À bout de bras / At Arm’s Length.

David and Emily spend two weeks in residence at the CENTRO PER LA SCENA CONTEMPORANEA in the Garage Nardini space in Bassano del Grappa, continuing their research and creation of the upcoming solo À bout de bras / At Arm’s Length.
